Nathanael (Nate) Petley is an accomplished musician and music educator who has played in numerous professional ensembles and has taught across Central and Southeastern PA. He holds a B.S. in Music Education from Millersville University where he performed considerably on both Piano and Trombone. While an undergrad, Nate helped to create and lead many ensembles including a Brass Quintet (New Age Brass), a Jazz Trio, and a Jazz Sextet all while being first chair Trombonist in the Millersville Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Jazz Band. Nate was awarded with an Outstanding Soloist Award during the Crescent City Jazz Festival in New Orleans, LA. Since graduation, Nate has maintained a steady stream of work in areas of performance and education. He performs occasionally for Millersville sanctioned events at the Ware Center and for Lancaster’s own Music For Everyone. He tried out his sea legs with a four-month stint as a House Pianist for Princess Cruises. Education has been an important part of his work as well, having taught piano at The Meridee Winter’s School of Music in Philadelphia. Nate has been blessed to have had many great, inspiring, and influential teachers who taught not only music, but life lessons.
Caleb Heckman has been teaching all across the Lancaster County area since 2012. A student of the piano since age 7, he has studied under Mr. Randy Day of The Lititz Academy of Music, Mrs. Kendra Bigly of Lancaster Bible College, and Dr. Anita Renfroe and Dr. Xun Pan of Millersville University. He is also heavily involved in the local theatre scene and has served as an actor, music director, and accompanist with many theaters around Lancaster County, especially Servant Stage Company, Cavod Theatre, Susquehanna Stage Company, PRiMA Theatre, and The Lancaster Academy for the Performing Arts.
As an educator, Caleb is a firm believer in the philosophy that no two students are alike, and he strives to learn what motivates and encourages each individual student and to teach them according to their own goals and interests. Besides teaching students of all ages to play piano and read music, he loves to help them explore creating and composing music, learning chords and playing lead sheets, and more advanced music theory and analysis. He also loves to combine his proficiencies as an actor, music director, and accompanist to coach musical theatre students in audition prep.
